CREATIVE WRITING for kids of all ages!

From BRAINSTORMING to SELF-PUBLISHING on Amazon, kids will learn storytelling strategies used by professional authors, taught by New York Times bestselling author.

New York Times bestselling author Mark Cheverton

. . . will teach your young writer how to brainstorm a story idea. Mark will then teach your writing storytelling strategies and techniques so that they can change that idea into a short story or book. If your child has enough pages, Mark will show them how to self-publish the book on Amazon. He's helped numerous kids achieve this goal, and now he wants to help your child.

Use creative writing to improve READING and WRITING skills

What can your child achieve?

The Research is in:

  • Kids who choose the subject they write about will write more than expected.
  • Kids who write more become better readers
  • Kids who read more achieve greater academic success.

What are you waiting for?

Mark's Creative Writing Course will take your young writer from the BRAINSTORMING phase all the way to SELF-PUBLISHING on Amazon.

Imagine the self-esteem boost your child will feel when they hold their book for the first time . . . It'll be EPIC.

BE AWARE . . .
Amazon has a length requirement. Books must be at least 24 pages in length to be self-published on their platform. However, Amazon doesn't care about the font size, or how many words per page, or blank pages, or . . . For younger kids who write only 1 page, it can be difficult to stretch this to 24 pages without looking obvious; maybe that's ok?

Example:  For a six page short story I'd written, 8.5" x 11" in size, single spaced, I reformatted it to 5.5" x 8.5" (a standard book size), with 14 point font, reasonable margins, and double line spacing . . . I stretched that story to 33 pages.

A single page story can be a challenge. We'll need to work together to help your child put words on the page so they can self-publish on Amazon, if that is their goal. Maybe just writing a complete story is their goal???

PRIVATE FACEBOOK GROUP

I've set up a Private Facebook Group for the students of my course to ask question, offer feedback, and receive feedback on their work. This is intended to be a safe place to share your work or get help. I ask everyone to be respectful, kind, and helpful, however, no one should share any personal information about themselves to anyone else. Anyone asking for personal information from other students will be removed from the Facebook group. This is safe place for kids, and I hope to keep it that way.

You can find the Facebook group here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1073869117054378

Please share your paragraphs or stories in the Facebook group for others to see and learn from.
